This Privacy Policy explains what information TradePak collects, how we use it, and who we share it with. It covers the TradePak website, dashboard, and mobile app. If you have questions after reading this, contact us at support@gettradepak.com.
Account information - your name, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash, never in plain text). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google instead of a password.
Business information - your business name, license number, tax identification number, address, phone number, logo, and settings you configure (payment terms, tax rates, branding, etc.). Your business address and phone number may appear on quotes, invoices, and 1099-NEC forms you generate, since they identify who issued the document.
Client and job information - information you enter about your own clients (name, email, phone, address) and the quotes, invoices, jobs, schedules, and job-cost details you create.
Subcontractor tax information - if you use the 1099/W-9 features, your subcontractors may submit their own legal name, address, entity type, and Social Security Number or EIN directly through a link you send them. This is sensitive information we store to generate the 1099-NEC document you request; see Section 6 below for more on how it's handled.
Payment information - subscription and invoice payments are handled by Stripe. We store a Stripe customer/account reference, not your or your clients' card numbers.
Photos - if you use the photo-based quote feature, the photo you upload is sent to our AI provider to draft a quote (see Section 3) and, if you choose to keep it, is stored with that quote.
Mobile app data - if you use the TradePak mobile app, we store a push notification token for your device so we can notify you about account activity (e.g. a quote being accepted). We don't collect your device's location or contacts.
Usage information - standard technical information like IP address, browser type, and pages visited, collected automatically by our hosting infrastructure for security and troubleshooting purposes.
We don't sell your information or your clients' information to anyone.
When you use the AI quote-generation features, the job description and/or photo you provide (along with relevant business context like your price book) is sent to Anthropic, our AI provider, to generate a draft quote. We don't send subcontractor SSNs, EINs, or payment card data to the AI provider. Anthropic processes this data under its own data-handling terms as our service provider - it isn't used to train models available to other companies.

We may also disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of TradePak, our users, or others. If TradePak is ever acquired or merges with another company, your information may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy (or a policy at least as protective).
If you use TradePak to manage clients or subcontractors, you are responsible for having the right to share their information with us and for how you use TradePak to communicate with them (for example, complying with any consent requirements for marketing or automated messages). We process that information on your behalf, as your service provider - it's your data to manage, export, or delete through your account.
The public W-9 link feature lets a subcontractor submit their own tax information directly - a business using TradePak never has to type or forward that person's SSN/EIN themselves. That submission is encrypted in transit, tied to a unique, non-guessable link, and visible in the app only to the business that requested it (SSNs/EINs are masked to the last 4 digits by default in the interface). If you're a subcontractor who submitted a W-9 through one of these links and want it corrected or removed, contact the business that sent you the link, or reach us directly at support@gettradepak.com.
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) for all traffic, hashed (never plain-text) passwords, and access controls limiting who can see your business's data to your own account and team. No system is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security, but we take it seriously.
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we're required to retain it (for example, financial records needed for tax or legal compliance, or backups that age out on their own schedule).
You can access or correct most of your information directly from the dashboard, and you can delete your account yourself at any time from your Profile page (Delete Account) - if you own the business, this deletes the business and everything in it; if you're a team member, it deletes your personal login and leaves the business's records with the business. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws like the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the Iowa Consumer Data Protection Act, similar laws in other states, or the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to request a copy of your data or object to certain processing. TradePak uses a small number of essential, first-party cookies to keep you signed in and remember your session - we don't use third-party advertising or tracking cookies, and we don't run analytics scripts that follow you across other sites.
TradePak is a business tool and isn't directed at, or intended for use by, children. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
TradePak's infrastructure is hosted in the United States. If you use TradePak from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S., which may have different data protection laws than your country.
We may update this Policy as TradePak changes. We'll update the date at the top of this page, and for material changes, we'll make a reasonable effort to notify you directly.
